The Helmut Lang label was set up by Austrian born designer Helmut Lang. Strong, clean silhouettes and minimalist tailoring were favoured by the label. In 2004 Italian fashion house Prada acquired the brand. In the same year Helmut Lang departed the label that bears his name. The brand is now owned by Link Theory and headed up by designers Michael and Nicole Colovos, who contunue with the distinctive aesthetic that Lang created.
